KrisEnergy Rights Issue – Don’t Overeat
The results of my third and last rights issue of last month was finally out last week, but due to work, I had to postpone writing this blog post.
This is an interesting case, where after the rights issue was issued, the share price moved futher south. Wisely, I chose to take up a small amount of rights, and thus I didn’t incur a high paper loss, as I can easily average down the price later on when oil prices start climbing again, which – at the point of writing – did happen. Will patiently average down with my Standard Chartered trading account.
As in real life, not overeating (or in this case, not subscribing too much) does well in preventing weight-related diseases in the future!
recently became shareholder albeit a small holding in kris energy . as an irish man this is my first venture into the singapore market as i usually play a little in ireland and germany, i was very impressed with all aspects of the presentation of their company and its activities .i would expect the share price to be closer to 50c then 30c in early january 2016 .
Hi there John,
Wow, that’s really interesting! Most locals here think that the local market is dead though, and it’s really surprising to see non-locals vesting recently given Singapore’s current malaise.
As for KrisEnergy, well, it seems to have a strong position in O&G, and does have a big backer (Keppel Corp). The thing about the Singapore market is that most investors here concentrate their cash on blue chip counters here, and thus, pennies are very often neglected. Hopefully more people can realize that not all blue chips are safe, and not all pennies are shady deals.
i am not fully aware of the singapore market and its stock preferences , however during a misspent youth i worked in the english market mainly on acquisitions , during this time i discovered by trial and error that if a company possesses good management and a good product you can invest with some certainty of a return on your money, i am of the opinion that kris energy has the management quality to carry through its oil and gas program successfully , but you invest and hope your feelings are right and you are rewarded with some satisfaction and of course profit. .in the western markets there has been a large fall in individual investors trading in the markets replaced by the various funds of all kinds consequently you see large blocks of shares bought and sold without rational, i must look a little more at the various aspects of your local market
out of interest i had a look at the recently released data , the oil future bpd production looks like in the range of 12k bpd as the ownership on the producing wells is not 100pc . the company is obviously well run but needs a 100pc owned asset to produce at least 7kbpd to give it going forward traction and a safety collar to withstand the fluctuations in oil prices,i wish them luck
