2014 SGX Portfolio Breakdown
A year comes to an end, and it’s time to analyze my portfolio:
As you can see, I have substantial holdings in banks, investment trusts and manufacturing companies. I intend to diversify and invest more in Tramsportation/Storage/Communication, Services, Hospitality and Property companies.
Top 5 Holdings – Investment Trust |
Macquarie International |
Frasers Commercial |
Starhill Global |
Suntec REIT |
Mapletree GCC |
Interestingly, Macquarie International was one of my earliest forays in the stock market, and to this day I still hold on to it, even though I had various opportunities to cash out. Hopefully they will be able to divest their last asset in the fund, and wind up at a good price, freeing up capital for other forays.
Uunrealised Net Capital Gains: | -2.66% |
Net Dividend Yield: | 3.71% |
All in all, although I have paper loss, my dividend yield covered for the losses. I still think it’s pretty good returns, as I have a couple of money-losing counters in my portfolio. Thankfully 60% of them have been sold off at near to cost along the years, and I think I’m rather lucky to get back my capital.
