US Market Portfolio – December 2014
This month is particularly interesting, as it was the first time I started trading on the US market. Because of the recent oil price crash, I made a quick move to purchase oil-related stocks denominated in USD. I’ve been investing for quite a while in the swimming pool (SGX), so I decided to hop across the pond (NYSE/NASDAQ) to challenge myself. Furthermore, I shall only invest SGD $1k worth of stocks or less with a standard deviation of +/- $100.
Stock | % of Portfolio |
BP | 33.80 |
Penn West | 35.74 |
Royal Dutch Shell | 30.46 |
The stocks I’ve chosen are BP, Royal Dutch Shell and Penn West Petroleum, based on their dividend yield, share price near 52-week low and share price traded close to or under their BVS (book value per share).
